Entry into Politics
Cotton's foray into politics began in 2012, when he won the Republican primary for Arkansas's 4th congressional district. He went on to defeat his Democratic opponent in the general election, becoming the youngest member of the House of Representatives at the time. In 2014, Cotton ran for the U.S. Senate, defeating incumbent Senator Mark Pryor and becoming one of the youngest senators in the country.
